Your parents might not have taught the family that in this country, we stay here and work for change.Anonymous wrote:That hurts nobody but you. Enjoy the holiday. Donate to activism and vote. [/quote
There is no 'enjoyment' of freedom of our liberties when they are being taken away. Good grief I am surprised we have to spell it out for you.

Anonymous wrote:We usually go down to watch the fireworks but I am worried about a stampede this year. I was at the March for Our Lives early this month and did not like the chaos the gun nut caused. We just can't have nice things anymore.

Then I just saw two social media posts about the same. One from a friend who said her family would be attending a protest at X location instead. Another from a friend who announced they were no longer celebrating and would be wearing black on that day instead.
I told my kids our plans got canceled and neither seemed to care. DS said there's nothing to celebrate this year. DD said wearing black is a trend that's going around on tictock along with not buying gas July 2 (or 3rd maybe?) and a women's strike.

No one is taking that away from me or my kids. Life is much bigger than politics.
