Made for Love - HBOMax. 2 seasons (but got canceled even though it's awesome), about a woman who marries a very controlling billionaire tech tycoon (think Musk/Zuckerberg/Brin rolled into an archetype) and has to live on his "campus" and be separated from all reality. He's got darker plans, she tries to escape. But it's a comedy.

This show is great. Always love Molly Shannon. You didn’t mention Jennifer Lewis, but I love her and she’s also great in this.

Hacks is really good

If you have not seen For All Mankind (Apple+) I recommend it. It's a drama that reimagines the space race and specifically the US space program if a few things had gone differently and we'd wound up investing more heavily in space exploration. It's really fun if you like space/astronaut stuff, plus since it starts in the 1960s it's also got this parallel universe/alternate history thing going on that's interesting. But mostly I just really love the cast and think it's really well written drama. It just started it's 3rd season.

I will warn you upfront there is a storyline in season 2 that is... bad. I still love the show despite that storyline, but I give everyone this caveat so that when they get to this storyline, they aren't like "oh my god do you enjoy this?" Because no, no one does. But everything is really good, I can overlook it. Mostly.

I also recently watched the Leftovers -- based on a book, it's about what would happen if some small percent (I can't remember if it's like 2%? 3%?) of the world's population just vanished in a moment. Like how would people cope with that, how would religions respond, how would people move forward (or not). It's a pretty fascinating contemplation on loss, grief, relationships, guilt, etc. Like For All Mankind, it has some "what the heck?" moments, but I think they are more than worth all the other stuff. The creator is Damon Lindelof, one of the creators of Lost and he was also the creator of the Watchman show with Regina King (who is also in the leftovers). He's ambitious with the TV he creates and I think this show is more successful than Lost in living up to that ambition.

Oh, and for fun, we've been watching Girls 5eva on Peacock. Tina Fey is a producer (not creator, but it has a VERY 30 Rock sensibility) and it's funny and has a great cast. Silly af but in a good way.

It seemed that he was anointed from the beginning. Also, his personality is way too over-the-top for me. I tend to shy away from extreme personalities IRL.

We’re also watching Tehran. The plots don’t make any sense, but it’s entertaining.

Finally got around to watching The Chair on Netflix, with Sandra Oh. The season felt too short, or they focused on the wrong things, or something like that, but I enjoyed it overall.

Also finally watching Reservation Dogs on Hulu. Not much happens — it’s a hanging-out show — but great if you’re prepared for that.

Started Ms Marvel on Disney +. Underwhelmed so far (2nd episode), but the reviews are strong so going to give it more time.

Mr Sunshine, a historical K-drama on Netflix. Enjoying it so far. Absolutely gorgeous to look at. (Reminds me of Kingdom without the zombies. And I highly recommend Kingdom if anyone does like zombies!)

Gentleman Jack. Set in England during the Industrial Revolution. Based on Anne Lister's very detailed diaries, including her love of several women, her place in society, and her very strong opinions about everything. Amazing in multiple ways. I can't get enough of it.

The Flight Attendant (HBO+). I just finished season 2, which just came out. It’s entertaining, suspenseful, a little ridiculous. It’s a little like Girl on the Train with some comedic relief (think alcoholic woman finds herself in the thick of a murder investigation, can’t help but insert herself, hijinks ensue).

Search Party (5 seasons, also HBO+). Clever dark comedy/mystery that mocks directionless, self-obsessed millennials. A woman learns an old college acquaintance has gone missing and becomes consumed with finding her. As a millennial myself I loved it! The characters are hilarious and awful humans all at once.

OP here, thanks for the recommendations. I now have a huge list of shows too wath. I started two so far, Season 2 of Starstruck and Barry. I'm about 3 episodes in Barry and it's good! I'm still on the fence about season 2 of Starstruck, I really loved the first season but the female lead seems unlikeable so far this season. I"ll keep going. I tend to watch a few shows at once. I also stumbled across another show on Netflix that I started that I'm enjoying. It's called On The Verge and it's about the friendship of four women in their 40's dealing with careers/family, life, etc. One is a French chef with a husband that's AF, one is a SAHM but is looking for a job, one is a clothing designer/heiress, and one is a single mother that's broke and has 3 kids with 3 different baby daddies. It's really good.

Night Sky is a nice little sci-fi drama. Sissy Spacek and JK Simmons are pretty good….and the intersecting plot lines and flashbacks add a lot to the overall theme. The supporting cast is very solid.
