The Mayor “loved” a comment stating that the issue was not poor leadership but rather too high expectations for the superintendent and “communal attitudes of grievance” - ie parent complaints.
He actually hit the "care" emoji. Not sure what that means.

INCREDIBLE NEWS!
@ACPSk12 Superintendent Hutchings is RESIGNING! He’s done great damage to @ACPSk12 in his short tenure, harmed thousands of kids (esp SPED kids), covered up assaults and an alleged rape, & divided the community. Now he’s off to make💰w/his new grifty LLC.

That woman is insufferable. She can’t even take criticism from high schoolers. I am thrilled Hutchins is gone but please don’t share her nonsense.
No one is as insufferable as all the ACPS parents who have a knee jerk reaction to any criticism or suggestion re ACPS. They are the absolute WORST.
No. No one is more insufferable than the parents who whine ENDLESSLY about every move the school district makes and perseverating endlessly on “WAAAAHHH, SCHOOL BUILDINGS CLOSED DURING A PANDEMIC!”

Yes.
Obviously, ACPS is moderated by the district so that isn't completely unexpected. And given the terms of ACPS/Hutchings separation agreement that is making the rounds, maybe ACPS would argue that to leave the comments up is defaming him? It's not a good argument but in their mind it's a solid excuse. I think it's more likely that they just are continuing to squash dissent.
The parent pages are, for the most part, run by people (PTA types) who are wildly supportive of ACPS and won't allow any criticism. Even of Hutchings (although it is funny to watch parents who never said a word about Hutchings & loved to socialize with him get awfully brave on social media now that he's gone). It's the same people who for years have viciously attacked people if they criticized him or the district.

Hutching's departure is devasting news for Alexandria and its children.

And if you go to Mayor Wilson’s Facebook page, you see the new argument is that the problem is not with ACPS and poor leadership but rather having too high expectations for what a superintendent can do and too many parent complaints.
