+1. So much this. A judge should not be contacting a contestant privately (let alone asking for her number!) regardless of the reason. Period. Posting that video in an attempt to clear his name certainly backfired.

It seems like he means the choreographer — otherwise why mention the choreographer at all — but that makes no sense either: if he knew the choreo for over 20 years, why in the world would he have to go through a contestant to reach her? IMO he knows his career might be over and this is his Hail Mary to save it.
