And Elrich and Riemer do?
Anonymous wrote:Riemer purchased the county government email list. Hucker did too. I keep getting Riemer emails even though I didn't sign up for them. Just got one today that says,
"Hello – I was checking our donor records and saw that you’ve chipped in so far to Hans. Just wanted to make sure that was correct."
Like a little space is left to insert how much I donated to him. And yet....I've never contributed. Why start an email off like that?

I don't even want to vote for Blair, but I cannot get over how Riemer has run a campaign that seems 100% negative at every turn, starting with the moment he began his last term as a council member.

In a perfect world, I’d vote for Riemer. But I’m first-and-foremost voting against Elrich, and I think Blair has the better chance at this point.
The problem with Riemer is he’s a liar and doesn’t stand for anything (except for subsidies for companies). Just yesterday he put up no fight and voted to scale back the new Silver Spring plan. Had this not been an election year, he definitely would have voted differently.
The worst was when Riemer wrote a tax subsidy specifically for Mitchell Rales, the richest man in Maryland and pushed it through the council.
Rales donated a lot of money to Riemer before Riemer got taxpayers to finance his campaigns.
Riemer took Rales money to give them a sewer exception and then to reduce his annual property tax bill from about $450k to $70k, which resulted in thr billionaire getting a tax refund from the county of over $370k.
It’s impossible to point to anything that Riemer has done as councilmember that has shown a shred of integrity.
Riemer was comparatively cheap. Leggett and Berliner each took tens of thousands of dollars. Riemer only took $4,000.
This is probably the most insane thing about Riemer, that he’s also just so incompetently corrupt. How can he be bought so obviously cheaply? Rales probably, and rightfully, identified him as a mark and Berliner and Leggett took all the cash and made Riemer the patsy.
How is he so impossibly stupid? I just don’t know.
It’s a great question but somehow I am less angry that he’s sold the county so short when I see him selling himself so short.
