I don't think it is grandma at all, but then, I like baking AND eating and anything that somebody does special for me ... I take as something special for me.

I'm sorry you are so insecure with your hobbies and your sense of self. Have you looked at therapy?

If I knew that my (now) wife loved to bake and she never baked anything for me, then I'd be upset.

OP, if he knows that you love to bake, then he's probably hoping that you will bake something for him.

My wife of almost 24 years baked for me early on in our relationship - a cake that we brought to my birthday celebration with a bunch of friends. It sealed the deal for me.

My partner helped me make and frost cupcakes for my mom. He’s not a natural in the kitchen, but he was super game to help. It was fun, they came out great, and she loved them. I loved that he was into helping with something that was solely for someone else’s enjoyment and he thought it was a good way to spend the morning after. Massive points. Also she dotes on him now.
