Haha! I adopted my first at 41 and birthed my surprise, unplanned twins at 44. I never considered kids seriously until 40.

I think the idea is that is that if that is the family you want go for it. But just remember that when you are full of complaints about how its impossible to get everything done on a day to day basis. I think making your family planning decisions based on what you want your thanksgiving table to look like 30 years from now is also short sighted.

This. Your kids might not even come home for Thanksgiving or be particularly close as adults. I know several women who did this just to avoid returning to the workforce.

My youngest is 8 and my other two are 17 and 21. I very much wanted my third. Yes, they are all from the same Dad. There's definitely times where there is friction between all of them and times where activities are geared more one way than the other, but we make it work. I am tired more often now and have less patience in areas than with the first of course. My oldest will be in his 30s when my youngest graduates high school, but I wouldn't change a single minute.

I am 2 years younger than my older brother and 6 years older than my younger brother and 10 years older than my sister. Older bro and I were thrilled during teen years to have absentee parents who were focused on their young family lol. In retrospect maybe we missed out on some parenting but I cherish my siblings, especially baby sis. One of the best pets of the age gap is that my kids are 11 and 8 and hers are 2 and in utero. I don’t need a third for myself.
