+1. This is a great area. Really nice people and good sized houses/yards (although not sure how many make it to a whole half-acre). Every community I know of up and down the Parkway has family-friendly social events and there are always tons of kids and parents out walking/biking/socializing in the neighborhoods.
Totally agree! We live in Fort Hunt as well and LOVE it. We have 3 kids and are constantly doing social things with neighbors (pool, BBQ, birthday parties, play dates) and also love the outdoor trails!

Thanks for the advice, everyone. OP here. Regarding budget, we were hoping to stay under $1.5 million, but it has proved harder than we thought to find what we are looking for- space for four kids, work from home space, ideally a half acre of land, and a three car garage. We can go a little higher but under $2 million for sure. Mostly we are looking for community. Our current neighborhood has a handful of kids to play with ours, but the parents keep to themselves. We want to have fun too!

Because the people who can actually READ noted that the OP asked for dedicated home office(s) - ie, typically extra bedrooms - and half an acre lot. We allow people to choose how they want to live here in the US instead of making everyone conform to what their neighbor or the government may choose.
