It is a horrible ROI to spend 90K a year to become an accountant. B4 recruit from all schools and accounting majors have a near 100% employment offers before graduation.

I worked B4 and at the SEC- It does not matter where you went to school as long as it is accredited and you get your CPA. With that said some of the best accountants I have supervised and worked with went to the following schools- JMU, UMD, V Tech, Villanova.

The reason you hear all sorts of schools have “good accounting programs” is because they all teach the same stuff. If it’s AACSB accredited & kid interviews well, they will probably get a job. If they went to a no-name school they could end up working right next to big-name school grads…passing the CPA seems to level the advantages of going to top programs.

NEU's co-op program is the best in the country. Not sure about mid-size, there are almost 18,000 undergrads. But far smaller than some of the Big 10 schools.

Definitely not mid-sized, but Indiana is excellent for both accounting and foreign language. Their business career placement office is also very good. The Kelley website provides lots of information on who recruits there and where graduates land.

Partially correct.
Need a few years of work experience in order to be able to get CPA license--although one can take all parts of the CPA exam prior to satisfying the work experience requirement. For future employment opportunities, where one gets that work experience usually matters. This is why a good GPA in accounting courses matters as Big 4 and other major accounting firms often impose GPA cut-offs for selecting those to interview.
