Ladies, I wish you all could be a little more charitable and on topic.
- I’m glad your children turned out fine with unlimited screens, I had unlimited tv time and it negatively impacted my concentration and focus. I’m not unreasonable and would permit it on occasion.
- the person saying I should just keep trying is offering a nice reminder that I’ll eventually have a list of babysitters on standby. So far I have about 5-6 I’m talking with. It’s not free, I will pay. Sounds like she paid her sitters too, she’s not a user.
- my husband has taken a lot of time off for some back pain, so I really don’t want to request that he take off when he needs to go to physical therapy and the chiropractor. I shouldn’t have to explain myself. And I am looking for sitters- but no one was available a specific day. I’m not bringing my 15 month old to a 2.5 hour appointment with her glued to a screen she’ll probably end up dropping in a few minutes.
Sigh. In short: if you can’t be respectful and provide useful information, then please comment where you can be!
Thanks for the group recommendation! Looking forward.

I know I can drop off my child with my neighbor and her nanny if I have to.
I asked my other neighbor to drop by and watch my younger child when I take the older one to lessons.
I now have a list of offhand babysitters to ask.
You just keep trying.

Please respect my decision to not use screens. My dental appointments coming up are hours long. If it were a general doctor, she would be more then happy screen free for 20 minutes and I’m very proud of her for that. Again, my line is not that hard for a scenario where it’s absolutely necessary.

I’m not sure I can take her with me, I wouldn’t want her to cry and I wouldn’t be able to get to her. We do no screen time, she’s very good playing on her own, I wouldn’t be able to take her out of the stroller though.
This is when you use screen time.
Also, you need to make other SAHM friends. Then you all can occasionally trade off watching the other person's kids while you do these things.
16 month olds are way too young for screen time.
Schedule after 3 to get a babysitter and look for dentists that work one Saturday a month.

Thanks so much ladies for reminding me of that group that I’m not in. I’ll join now! What’s it called again and where can I find it? I’m located in the neighborhood below pg plaza adjacent to historic hyattsville
