My BF was a save-the-marriage baby! It didn't work. Divorced many many years.

I know someone in this same situation. Their relationship got pretty toxic soon after baby was born. They now live on opposite sides of the country and he comes over every so often to see his kid. The kid seems to have some major behavioral issues - not sure if it's related to her parents' relationship or not.

I knew 2 girls in college that did it. Lucky for them they trapped great men and they are both still married, multiple kids, 20+ years. One of the girls is a horrible person so I am surprised it worked out for her.

I know someone in HS that got pregnant from a ONS and thought keeping the baby would make the guy marry her. Not sure what she was thinking but that didn't work out for her.

Yes, my niece was a trap baby. It failed miserably and her mother took her away from the father who hasn’t seen her in close to a decade.

My SIL did this with kid #3 to prevent the marriage from unraveling. The kid is now 3 and *surprise* they are getting divorced. She spent the entire pregnancy telling anyone who would listen how much they wanted this kid, meanwhile my BIL got a vasectomy during the pregnancy.

My cousin did this about 20 years ago. Her HS boyfriend was going to leave for college out of state, she couldn't/didn't want to follow him. She got pregnant and they got married after he graduated HS (she dropped out). Stayed together about five years and had one more kid. She's since had four more kids with three other men. He ended up marrying another woman, going to college, and having one more kid- they are still married.

I know two guys who found themselves in that situation.
One was relatively recently divorced and about one or two months into dating this woman (late 30’s, no kids) she had an “ooops” pregnancy. He did the right thing and married her. They’ve had another kid but he’s absolutely miserable. She’s a pretty horrible human being to be around and he’s a really laid back nice guy.
The second guy was getting ready to break up with his girlfriend when she sprang it on him that she was pregnant. He married her, the kid is probably 3 or 4 and I think his conception was the last time she had sex with him. He’s miserable too.

My nephew is one. Brother’s ex wanted to get married, he refused, she went off birth control without telling him (he’s such an idiot for not wearing condoms). He never married her and she filled my nephew’s head with stories about how my brother cheated on her and didn’t pay child support — both lies. He’s 19 now and has finally accepted his mom lied to him, and he and my brother are starting to repair their relationship.

Coworker did this. She was with her boyfriend for years and couldn't get him to propose but wanted to be with him and was ready for kids. They are still together (still not married) but have a house (in his name only) and 2 kids. He seems to be a good dad and they seem happy (at least on FB).

There are many of those couples in the Dc area given the high number of state department employees.
State department employees do not do this, they have a code of ethics.
