I’ll try the X cream one poster suggested - and derm friend may suggest a cream.
Dog is ours. He is temperamental and I would re home him in heartbeat- but is daughters dog and she adores the little nasty thing!
Okay, please if she changes her mind do not “rehome” the dog. Fulfill your responsibility and put the dog down.

This is what we did (Inova Fairfax Pediatric ER) when my then-3yo got a small gash across her eyebrow. She's 9yo now and no visible scar. They said they do a lot of stitches.

If you have good insurance, you'll get to see a plastic surgeon for sure.
If you have marketplace insurance or medicaid, no plastic surgeon will come down.
I've seen it too many times in the hospital.
I've only worked in one hospital where a plastic surgeon was automatically called for all facial lacs. In other places, those with good insurance or $$ get the best care and everyone else gets good care.

Our pediatrician recommended we go to Children’s ER rather than our local INOVA ER because the doctors there do so many stitches daily they are really skilled and the results are as good as a plastic surgeon. We did this years ago and my 18 year old daughter barely has a scar on her face from a deep cut from a fall as a toddler.

I got a gash in my chip, about 1/2 inch recently. I put Doterra Correct X on it, and it was completely healed in about 3 days, no scar. Was a bloody mess. But I'm guessing your daughter's might be deeper from tooth puncture wound. Still, I cannot highly recommend enough how amazing the Correct X worked - can buy on Amazon for maybe $12. We went to plastic surgeon - Gregory Dick in Rockville. This was years ago- saw us right away. A fall- not a dog bite.

My youngest son got stiches near his eyebrow when he was 3yrs. old at an Emergency care in Rehoboth. He's a teen now and has zero marks.
My oldest got stiches on his chin last year at the INOVA Urgent Care and you can't barely see it.
Both kids healed perfectly. No plastic surgeon, no ER.

So maybe ask the pediatrician? And get a plastics rec.

I would go to the ER because it was a dog bite. However when my DC got a cut on the face, we called the pediatrician and they to ld us to skip the ER and go straight to the plastic surgeon's office, who was able to see us that same day.
