I wear slip on black Nike shoes. They look similar to vans but are solid black with white at the bottom. Some of us can’t wear sandals or heels. You could also try wearing pants that flare a little. Another option is the white gym shoes with a heel at the bottom… similar to keds…

Yes! I'm seeing a lot of high tops. Haven't bought any yet because I'm just not a white sneaker person (alt teen grown up), but haven't found a pattern I love.

Also, love the gold slip ons someone else posted above, and I think a leopard print vans-style slip on goes with anything.

The problem with Stan Smiths is that you have to keep them pristine or they don't look right. I love them but am not fastidious enough to keep white sneakers unscuffed at all times.

I like Vejas. Also if you don't want to look too brand-conscious, check out Cole Hahn Crosscourts. No one will know what they are but they will still look right on trend. I always recommend these for people who complain that their sneakers look "orthopedic" because they have a low, slim profile while being more substantial than Bensimons or Keds. It's a great versatile sneaker. And come in lots of colors.


DP. I've had my Stan Smiths for years and worn them all over the place, including Paris and Rome. They are still spiffy white, which actually amazes me. Love them.

Don’t know about up to date, but Taos makes shoes that look like Keds that are awesome (have awesome Taos quality & arch support).


I had some Taos that looked just like Keds (Keds are too narrow for me) but I just went to look and can’t find them anymore.

Sneakers do not look right with maxi dresses. Regular, low profile Keds MAYBE but still not really
