How long did it take for smell/taste to come back? I’m sick now and only on day 4 of anosmia and it sucks.

Eh, maybe? Who knows. I’m feeling fine and have no plans to test. Only in DC (and maybe Portland?) are people so uptight about COVID now.

Agree. The paranoia about it here in Washington is unreal.

I think the people who are most concerned are those of us:

-Caring for an elderly or immunocompromised loved one
-Have an infant or toddler with health issues
-Can’t travel if we test positive

I suspect that I have it now. Minimal symptoms but I am so tired and I know that's a primary clue. Carrying on and hoping that it doesn't get worse.

No clue. Our school stopped reporting cases a few months ago Haven’t heard of masses of kids out.

Some of us need to travel, and we already lost 2 years.

Plenty of people need to see family in other countries. International travel is a hassle. Now, an additional hassle is exposure to as few humans as possible for as long as possible before the trip. It sucks, but it's reality for the time being.

There’s no way to do that with kids in school.

What do you think happens if you keep your kids home a week? The truancy cops pound on your door?

I get that many people have to work in person now, but plenty don’t.

…unless you need a negative test to travel.

Then you need to make sacrifices for a week or so before your international trip. Sorry.

Like keeping our kids home from school? That’s the biggest risk—particularly since there’s an uptick at our school. Zero to nine cases since Monday.

Fairfax county April 1, 7 day average: 104.

Yesterday it was 127.

That is two data points one day apart.

DC cases have more than doubled in two weeks. MoCo not far behind. NYT reports cases up significantly in NYC and DC.

One week apart. A seven day rolling average is not a singular data point.

Sigh. You sent very smart. This is week one of an increase in cases. In a few weeks your idea that people will go to school maskless and pretend they aren’t sick when they are will be exposed for the inanity that it is.
