In a few years when they are mid teens, they'll just come to the lounge with us and feel grown up and start to learn what that's like. But at 12 I think they'd be uncomfortable and feel a bit abandoned, so it's not time yet.
Agree. I think 12 is when I’d consider it.

Do you let your high school age kids go on trips where they are in a hotel room without an adult? I did that in high school for Model UN. If they are old enough for that, why can't you leave them.alone to go downstairs if they fall asleep first and you aren't tired yet?

You act like this is a super common occurrence. I've stayed in hundreds, maybe thousands, of hotel rooms, and never has someone just entered my room while I was in there at night. Has this happened often to you? Where do you stay?

So when parents are in a hotel room with their child that means they are gazing adoringly at their sleeping form for three hours? I’ve been in many hotel rooms with my children and have never done that. Weird thought that entered your mind and all the more reason to not leave child in room alone because of creeps like yourself with odd fantasies.
