nanny would not behave in this stupid way for sure. Most nannies are aware that they are often watched. To poster worrying about "hitting" - I would be more worried that 2 hr old is hit by the car since they are just walking behind with no one keeping eye on them.

If you heard her screaming at the kid...I bet it was the mom!

You don’t know this family, you don’t know the children or the nanny or maybe it’s the mother. You think you saw x y z but don’t know why x y z were happening. You have no clue what is going on in the situation and until you have all the details you need to butt out. If this is a nanny then the parents trust her and it’s on them to ensure she is vigilant. This isn’t your fight op. I know you want to have a Karen moment but this look is not flattering on you. Worry about your own kids.

OP here. Thanks all. I don’t know the family and haven’t seen them again - I may have seen the child with their parents one evening, but not sure.

I’m about 100% sure it was a nanny - from the way the two were interacting, to the ages involved, to other gut feelings. Maybe I just am hoping a family member wouldn’t act that way. I didn’t end up posting on the message board because I had to go out of town on short notice for a sick parent in the hospital. If I see something like it again I will.

I have young kids and a nanny and I would want to know!!! There are things I’m not uptight about but a safety issue like this is a big deal.

Do you know the family at all? Could you stop by the house under the guise of something else and just happen to mention you saw the kids with the nanny and, if it’s confirmed it is a babysitter or nanny, tell the parents what happened?

Babysitter, nanny or relative watching the kids I’d want to know!

MYOB. How do you know it was the nanny? Might have been Mom or another relative.
