Any large school in Virginia is probably going to lean conservative or be split about 50/50, depending on the number of students from NOVA or other urban areas.

There are so many students at Va Tech, there is room for everyone.

VA Tech? Really? You might me talking about SW VA, but that is not true at the 30,000k University with a student body that is predominantly from NoVA/DMV.

Virginia Tech is mixed but is mostly apolitical. It's not a school where you're going to find a lot of rallies, campaigns, etc on either side, so I think your kid will be fine. Blacksburg and the surrounding county IS conservative, so you will see Trump signs on the drive and in town. If that triggers your kid, perhaps they should look elsewhere.

Yep, Charlottesville is so much more conservative and uptight than Blacksburg. Blacksburg is wonderfully casual and just a fun place. You can see the difference everywhere.



I hope this is sarcastic. The city of Charlottesville is very liberal. The mayor in particular is super liberal.

Years ago when I was looking at colleges, VA Tech was known as being more conservative and where the 'country' kids went to school.

Preppy kids and money went to UVA. Anyone in the FFA club at school when to Tech.

It's not that way anymore. My kids found UVA to be much more conservative when exploring their options.

I quite clearly said that to be a conservative did not mean necessarily a member of the party. Truth is - I was disgusted that the party put Trump up as the party’s nominee and resigned the party. I did not vote at all in the last election because both choices were poor

That is terrible hyperbole. Are you even from this area or are you someone trying to cause discontent among Americans?

There are extremist on both sides of the political equation, but the majority of people on both sides love their country and their fellow humans and just want our country to be the best it can be. I don't think any of us need this kind of hate and diatribe. I hope things in your country get better soon.
