Sure, you’d date that, and it’s the minimum you’d want in a wife, but I’m sure you’d want more than that in a wife otherwise why get married?

What if your partner was extremely messy, bad with finances, needed a lot of emotional support from you, wrote embarrassing rants on Facebook (or posted embarrassing memes, ha), was overweight or really tall or some forbidden thing, disliked kids, was absolutely stupid, or chewed with their mouth open in front of your friends?

I'm not trying to insult you or anything, I'm just not convinced that men are as simple and low-maintenance as we make them out to be.

Really hot men filter and date a lot. Sometimes they shoot themselves in the foot though. I've noticed men with a lot of options really are into sincerity and character.

Why’s that bad? I know a great guy who is an accomplished physician and he’s really into character, intelligence, and empathy. Totally bored by the 20-something’s who only care about his money and can’t hold a conversation to save their life, and isn’t at all attracted to the “IG model wannabe” look. He still does pretty well, is dating a woman his age (mid 30s) who is a business owner. They spend a lot of time volunteering with animals together and are very happy.

That’s not it in a long term relationship. There is more to it.

Pandemic proved that you want someone who is fun, patient, conversational and helpful enough to quarantine with.

It comes down to this:

everyone wants a unicorn, but there aren't enough unicorns to go around, so most of us settle for getting as much on the list as possible.

You wouldn’t want an anti-vaccine, anti-mask, anti-science spouse making decisions for your children.
