That's false. If you read the judge's order in plain language, they cannot use the exact process that existed in the fall of 2020.
Do they have to have approval from the judge on a new plan or can they modify it just a little bit? Why can't they just increase the per middle school allocation to 2 or 3% skewing the demographics even more?

We'll see. The application numbers will bear out whether or not this is true but I'll bet you'll have about 1,500 Asian applicants just like you always have.

By the way - no they shouldn't. The system cannot afford any further inputs at this point.
Just take the kids with 4.0's and the the ones who got the science question right. That will probably still be more than can be admitted. So then do lottery. Then spend the remaining time getting admissions right next year, instead of fighting in court. What a waste of time and resources!

I would love to see them scrap the 1.5% and just divide all the seats evenly per capita from all of the middle schools in FCPS

I get that you want to believe this, but many might be happier since the students would have comparable talent but a lot fewer of the privleged high-pressure tiger parents.
