Agree on the classic comment. Thanks for the link. I’ll check it out. However, my kitchen is too small to mismatch the island with the perimeter. It all needs to be one color. I think my issue is now less with color in general rather than the marble I have is cool and it’s been a headache trying to pull a color from SW that will work with it as well the other off white in my open concept home.


Upthread PP here who recommended Reflection (/Alaskan Husky) - we have honed carrara marble in the bathrooms with a warmer greige-ish tile on the walls, and this color pulls them together well.

Op here. I agree. I have many of the decals up as well as paint samples up and they are all blue or purple. I have the worse light in my kitchen.

You really have to put the samples in your room. We went with BenjMor Classic Gray, and it was the most neutral we could find. In our room so many of the most loved grays were baby blue.

One thing I’m not behind on is trends. I don’t really understand the statement about middle class so I’m just going to ignore it. I am interested in a neutral kitchen because it is what I like. I am also interested in a neutral kitchen because it is timeless and classy. If I can’t find a grey that I like I will look into white…on heavens not white!!!! Yes white because it’s my house, I pay the mortgage. I live here.

I will never understand why people get so bent out of shape about what others are doing in their own homes. If you don’t have a grey paint to suggest, there really is no need to comment.

Oh I am. The trend you are currently following, I did years ago when it first came out. I have done the grey, the white, the black finishes over 4 years now. This isn’t bragging at all just being real. I have people in my circle who are all doing interior design that I did years ago. Now I am learning to follow trends less and to do what I will love forever. It’s very freeing and less expensive.

Not OP but give it up! There’s something to be said for classic and neutral instead of, oh I don’t know, dark green cabinets or whatnot.

I had this problem! Painted the main area of our house in what apparently looked like lavender! Try a gray with more green or yellow in it and relatively less blue or red. I can’t give a specific rec because I was using BM and it may not be helpful anyway. Alternatively try to go a little darker is you don’t mind. The color will vary less with lighting.
