It varies by the person. Some sell all, some sell part, some sell to pay taxes and some don’t sell. We do a mix of sell for taxes or keep all and just live off salary. We consider RSU’s savings.
They are struggling to hire because of their hiring practices and ruling out decent people.

Unless you are another very reputable high tech firm already, Amazon is like McKinsey, Bain or bcg in consulting or like Goldman, Merrill etc in banking.
Your next job post Amazon will be $500k+
LOL, that's not true. Who told you that. Do you know how many white collar jobs amazon have? Do you think everyone would get $500K+ jobs now?
It is if you play your cards right. I also assume the OP is not coming here to ask about an L3 job.
I was L5. Next job L7. Next L8. Now L9.
I’m over $1M. Took 4 years from L5.
It’s doable. Even if you cut my numbers in half.
Yes, very unusual and I know Amazon to not skip steps like this so quickly. L9s are like VP of a big division within amazon as their executive group is at L11s. Something doesn't sound right here.
Sorry, I meant I was L5 at Amazon. I left Amazon for an L7 role. I’m now L9, but not at Amazon.
It is a completely different thing then. Please stop misrepresenting. An L9 at amazon is totally different than an L9 equivalent somewhere else. Amazon has these steps and scale for a reason.
I didn’t misrepresent. I said your comp post Amazon was $500K+ and that id done that. People just need to learn how to read.
Then why you are saying that you are L9 when you don't work at amazon anymore?

Why?

Troll. There is no L9 at Amazon, and it’s basically unheard of to go from L5 directly to L7.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Op, what's your salary and are you an L5 or L6?
L6 $170K total comp
Current salary is $105K
Seems low for L6. My son was offered 200K total comp for the first year for L3 programmer in AWS. He did not go because of on call duty.
