I think really quickly the peer pressure will be to stop wearing masks. I am having my kid practice "My mom is making me wear a mask so I don't test positive before spring break" for when kids ask him why he's still wearing one. I do think a lot of parents feel that way so hopefully it'll be a non-issue.
FWIW, spring break travel truly is the only reason he's still wearing a mask. We're going on a cruise that has been rescheduled 4 times since March 2020. We are all so ready for that trip. If I wasn't worried about testing at the port, I wouldn't really give a flying f about the mask. I'm quite liberal but we're all vaccinated and I'm not worried about getting seriously ill at this point. I was hoping the policy updates would come after spring break but c'est la vie.

We’re as blue as can be. Never voted republican in my life. But we’re all fully vaxxed and are fine with them unmasking at this point…if it weren’t for all my fellow blue friends openly saying they will judge the parents of any kids who unmask.

Most kids remained masked, but many kids whose parents opted them out chose to wear masks. As time has passed, more and more of those kids have gradually unmasked, but it has been hard for them to adjust. It hasn't been an issue that has been discussed in school at all, and it doesn't seem to be a huge deal.
