How has she done on the SOLs? Does she always pass advanced? If she has a regular track record of passing advanced and doing well in class you might be able to ignore the IAAT but an 84th percentile is not all that close to the 91rst percentile that they are looking for. Try talking to her teacher and seeing what they say.
Every year consistently has advanced pass and overall math is 4 100% of the time. Sometimes subsections of also all 4s in the math on the report card.

As far as I know, all 8th graders can take Algebra 1 in 8th grade, regardless of whether they took Math 7 or Math 7 H. But I think that Algebra 1 H has Math 7 H as a prerequisite.
If we go back to TJ admissions the way it was, chances are small that a child that doesn’t take Algebra 1 in 7th will qualify, if you look at the math sequence for kids that were admitted.
DP. I think it is open enrollment.
+1. Both of these sequences are open enrollment for 6th/7th/8th.
Regular or advanced 6th grade math/ M7H/Alg I Honors
Regular 6th grade math/Math 7/Algebra I Honors
Many kids jump up from regular 6th grade math to M7H. Many kids also jump up from regular math 7 to Algebra I Honors.

In order to get into Algebra 1 in 7th grade, your child has to be in AAP, so they can take the IAAT and get over 91 percentile, and pass advance on their math SOL.
Not true. In order to take Algebra in 7th your kid has to be in Advanced Math or AAP. The kids in Advanced Math use the same math curriculum as the LIV kids and take the IAAT as well.
