For actual real vacations, they are always adult-led with kid interests every day. Europe and South America, mostly. One amazing trip to Kenya! As they got older, a lot centered on fun museums and sports. We also added in a couple days in the countryside of every country which has been great for all of us and something I never do pre-kids.
I’ve always wondered what it was like for kids growing up on a warm beach and within an hours drive of Disneyland or Disney World! Must be heaven!

Usually it's a bit of a compromise but this year we are finally taking that Disney trip and Great Wolf Lodge trip so it's going to be very kid-centric this year. I think my husband and I might try to get away for a few days by ourselves to counterbalance it

Nope it is adult-led. We do try to find one activity each trip that kid will enjoy but we will also enjoy. I hate Disney. That is a grandparent trip in our family but I will not take her.

We do both. One year, we did the Busch Gardens circuit for Spring break, and went to the Caribbean later in the year. We did Disney once (which neither of them remembers) and they do not have the desire to go back. They play travel sports, and we will hit Disney and/or if we ever have a tournament there, but I don't see making a special trip. I *might* do it as a joint trip with friends with similar aged kids, but that's not on our family's hit list.

This is basically our approach as well. Also, it's not like the adults always agree either. I like cities, DH prefers nature. We usually do a combination (city near a national park, for example). Finding kid-friendly activities - a pool, hikes, museums, zoos, a playground when DC was younger - is always good. But we generally like those activities as well. There have also been times when we've split up vacations. DC and I both wanted to go to Universal, for example, but DH didn't so he stayed home.
