I just finished The Chain by Adrian McKinty and loved it.

Reading this now. Not done yet. I agree with you about the sex being absurd (major eye rolls). But imo the writing only teeters on terrible. It's not soooo bad that I need to stop reading it.

I went on a Patricia Highsmith kick several years ago and maybe read every book she wrote. For those who don't know, she wrote "The Talented Mr. Ripley." Ripley stars in several books, but there are even more that don't. "Strangers on a Train" is another famous one adapted for film.

I have Verity on my shelf to read next! The reviews are so mixed. I really want to like it.

I liked The Wife Upstairs, too. I was surprised it had gotten such bad reviews.

I also really enjoyed The Plot.

It doesn’t come out til August but Complicit is really good (I got an advance copy).
