I had a Civic for 20 years, so I'd vote for that. Never once let me down! We got rid of it because we had 2 kids and my DH is 6'5" and it was time to upgrade. But I'd totally get another one in the future. My dad bought it for me when I was in college, and if you'd told me I would be driving one of my kids to elementary school in it, I wouldn't have believed you, but I totally did that...

Mazda 3 is an excellent car for the price. Mazda has been knocking out of the park recently. Reliable too.

Toyota Corolla Cross, a crossover sized Corolla. It is coming out with a hybrid version near the end of the year.
