However, to any newly admitted parents, we would NOT recommend HC at this point. It is no longer a Catholic school, and truth be told not totally all "girls" either. Wokeness running rampant over there and its ok to be "transitioning." Very little emphasis on traditions like March for Life and Holy Days. Tuition rising higher and higher and many teachers have left in the last year. Covid has definitely played a role, but HC definitely in a new era. LOTS of expensive administration in positions that never used to exist. Will take a couple of years to see where HC lands so we are relieved to be out.
So are you saying boys that are transitioning have been admitted vice versa?

But he is Catholic and even attended a Catholic university, showing a commitment to those values.
Isn't he also gay?

Anonymous wrote:HC parent and can clarify. Despite being a school of only about 350 total students, HC created a head of Middle School and hired a new head of the Upper School this year. A MAN - Stacy Stoyanoff. He is not Catholic. Anyone at the school can confirm. School clearly going away from Catholic tradition not sure where.

This is outrageous. Why would a Catholic school hire a non-Catholic head of school? If the school moves away from its Catholic identity, where is the value of paying $40K a year? Georgetown University did, but they at least have the academic reputation to pull that off. And looking at his background, he was involved in production of assessment materials for IB. Not sure what that adds to the mix there. Disappointing.

Would you say "grow up" if Morehouse College hired a white president? Do you think Gonzaga or Georgetown Prep would ever hire a female president? NEVER. But parents are "whiny" if they expect a Catholic all-girls school to hire a Catholic woman in a leadership position? This is nasty and disparaging to those who expect a Catholic school to actually reflect the values they "claim" to preach...
Additionally, how is it when a parent asks a question on this post they are immediately dismissed as someone with an axe to grind or trying to get other families to decline admission. Ridiculous! If you are not knowledgeable about the community in question then don't comment!
