Pep absolutely needs more funding but that doesn't give him any experience in K-12 which is what MCPS's focus is on. I think he's refreshing after all the people we have had and currently have. It would nice to get someone completely different.

Here’s the conundrum that the BOE has caused for itself and the future of MCPS. Their “leadership” that has led to declining educational outcomes and declining trust has caused people like me, who value public education, desperate for change. This has created opportunities for outsiders to challenge BOE members. But sometimes those outsiders could have other agendas.

This guy has worked for at least one organization whose mission has been promoting school choice. Through the BOEs incompetence we may have crossed a threshold where charter schools are inevitable and MCPS loses its reputation as a high quality system.

They need to wake up. But the President of the BOE seems all to happy running things into the ground, so long as she’s feels powerful with her scheming and politicking.
