Owen is Welsh

??? Owen is as Welsh as Connor is Irish. Oliver is Norse/French in origin. Caleb and Benjamin, as you note, are Hebrew names. So actually, Henry is the only name on this list that is "very British" in the way that you mean.

IMO, Owen is the best match with Connor.

If you want the nn Charlie but don't want the full name Charles, you can go with Charleton/Charlton (like Charlton Heston, the actor). Or Carlton. I knew a Carlton in college who went by Charlie.

I think it’s easier to remember kids’ names when they don’t start with the same sound or initial, but maybe it’s just me.

I mix up my friends kids who are Jake and Jackson or Connor and Charlie.

Practice using the names a bit. We have a son with an -er name and a dog with an -er name. Totally different names/vibes and I’m always mixing them up. You might do the same with Connor and Oliver. (Yes, I know I sound crazy. But it’s annoying.)

Brady and Cameron.

I loved a lot of the classic Irish names, but DH didn’t want to repeat anything they was already used in our extended family. So no Patrick or Owen.

I also liked Charles (Charlie) which I’ve seen mentioned on this thread. I do like Henry and Benjamin too, but they felt too popular.
