Get your kid vaccinated or TTS.

Being vaccinated didn't prevent the recent surge.

This is what has basically changed my mind in the masking issue. The rate of masking in Arlington is super high like almost 100% and still the spread happened.

Yes spread happened in the community where masks are not mandated.

But with universal masking in schools, there wasn't that much spread in the schools and APS schools have been able to stay open.

This. In January there were more cases at my kids' ES than in prior months, but the increase was nowhere near what it was in the general population. And, there would be one case in a grade one week, maybe 1-2 the next week (different classes). COVID was NOT spreading in the classrooms. Why? All of the mitigation measure taken. Mitigation works. Too bad people don't mitigate in more places.

I mean this with full sincerity, please read the studies.it’s been the case that schools have significantly less spread than surrounding communities since the beginning of the pandemic and whether or not the school has a mask mandate. For whatever reason, kids are not spreading at the same rate of adults.

The kids with whiny, immature parents complain. They learn it at home.

Wearing masks didn't prevent the recent surge.

Our community as a whole wasn't masking. Many are just living their lives like it's 2019. Cases surged. And some businesses closed as a result.

But our schools were masking and unlike so many other areas of the country, masks kept schools open here during the surge. Don't you want that?

Being vaccinated means you don’t miss school for an exposure, dummy.

You are wrong. There are plenty complaining.
You are in an echo chamber so you can’t hear them.

And it amazes me that when a medical
professional says something that doesn’t fit what you like than all of
a sudden doctors are t reliable and science is over rated.

Keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better!
This is a parent issue and those that have had a problem (medical) have worked with schools.
These are the facts: no students or staff members are complaining

I guess my kid doesn't exist!

They can homeschool.

Boosters helped a lot with omicron. ?

And masks reduced spread in schools - keeping more teacher in the classroom.

Come back in a few weeks, OP.

I don't think people realize how high cases still are. We're still on par with the surge from last winter.

Except we’re all vaccinated, it’s a milder virus, and we have access to high quality masks. It’s not the same and it’s time end the mandate.

Deaths just went up in VA. But I'm sure those were "milder" deaths.

LOL! That is in no way a fact. Why would you even write that?? Do you say stupid stuff like that out loud too??

My kid is vaccinated and we have signed up for TTS. But until that is active, my,kid still gets excluded if they’re in a class with your snowflake who is too precious for a mask when they get covid. If they didn’t do that, I’d be perfectly fine never testing my kid and sending them to school unless they are wickedly ill at home. The kids are being way more mature about this than the adults. I have to go into my office and I have to wear a mask all day and I don’t love it, but I deal. Sorry your kid is being raised to believe that small inconveniences are overwhelming.
