I think it would be awesome. He looks like a kind person who would have enjoyed his teaching position and we need more people like him.

It would be an absolute coup for Sidwell to get Chasten on as faculty.

And the rates aren't the same across all grade levels. The increase for MS is 7.5%. Unconscionable.

Ironic the increase is so high for the division with the absolute worst leadership. The ms principle has run the division through the ground, driven away so many good teachers, even before the pandemic.

If you don’t like tuition costs, diversity, or the curriculum did the read the website before you applied? Basic due diligence would have determined that Sidwell probably isn’t the school for you.

But it’s not the end of the world! Don’t fall for sunk cost fallacy. There tons of schools that you could potentially transfer your kid to that could be a better fit.

If you’re unhappy with your circumstances, you can change them and the added bonus is that I’m sure there’s a kid and a family that would be absolutely thrilled to take your place. Everyone wins.

It's going to building debt. As always. And before the "but they got 2 big donations from anonymous donors" poster enters the fray, let's be clear: Until thise anonymous giant donors stepped up to cover "nearly half" of the new building costs, Sidwell was basically down 100% of the costs with no end in sight. With no other anonymous donors willing to write $10 million plus checks apiece, where else is the money going to come from?

Administrative bloat kept the schools running with testing well before it was accessible to public schools and kids in-classrooms. Maybe if the administration for places like FCPS or LCPS were in-person during the pandemic schools would have been open before Fall 2021.
