Bottom line- the only thing is
1. Sunblock
2. A good moisturizer
Literally, that is it. The rest is just playtime and $$.
Except that tretinoin has actual scientific evidence of anti-aging benefits, so add that one to the list.
Vitamin C also has a robust body of RCT evidence behind it, re: accelerating cell turnover. otoh, it's _really_ hard to maintain it without oxidation.

If you look up dermatologist’s personal skincare routines, they all include a Vitamin A derivative, in addition to sunblock and moisturizer.
It is usually Retin-A, because there are decades of studies to prove it’s efficacy. For those whose skin can’t handle Retin-A, otc retinoids are used, such as retinol, or retinaldehyde.

My list:
really good European, high PPD sunscreen. I like Avène SunsiMed, Bioderma Photoderm Max Milk SPF50, and Isdin Fotoprotector Fusion Water SPF50. Isdin is great under makeup.
sun hat. I always wear mine and I have several. There are less dorkier versions now.
La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5. Amazing for irritated skin, I also mix it with a drop of Renova to make it less harsh
retinaldehyde - Avene Retrinal is amazing
Bakuchiol Serum - I like the Herbivore Botanicals one, very little ingredients
Vitamin C - I like skinmedica C&E
I'm European and when I het home I always get profhilo.
