Neither are sporty either and they aren’t legacy or donors. Just regular educated professional people
I am both jealous and admiring at the same time. Ugh.
Why are you jealous?
ok I will play along...
Because I want MY two super nice smart kid to get into HYPSM, duh.
Well, that's pretty sad. And it shouldn't make you jealous. Jealousy is an ugly thing, especially over something that silly.
Okay lady. Be self righteous on an anonymous board, cool. And calling other people ‘silly’ for their honest feeling is sad too
Well, I'm a man for one thing. Regardless, I just think it's sad. I'm not jealous of anybody else's kids. I'm happy with my own.
HAHA says dude on the DCurbanMOM site and looking through college discussion board; because you’re the type who says ‘I’m happy wherever my kid fits in” to everyone but secretly hopes for an Ivy. Be honest with yourself.
Look, MOM, your premise isn't true. I'm not "secretly hoping for an Ivy" for my kids. But here's the thing: even if it were true, decent and normal people can both "hope" for something for your own kids without being "jealous" of somebody else's kid for attaining it. We're not all as petty as you.

Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Stanford
Sometimes it includes HYPSM (mit)
The most ‘desirable’ schools on college confidential and reddit college groups.
What about Princeton, Dartmouth, Brown?

I’m sure people say that about my kids. We are humble (except what I’m writing right now) so you have no idea their test scores, grades, accomplishments, extracurriculars.
People were sort of blown away when my son graduated first in his class (only 1 valedictorian) since we never talked about his grades, scores, etc to neighbors or close friends. He always was very, very bright but a social kid that wasn’t in the “hardcore face in book, parents putting him Hopkins summer stuff and math competitions, etc”.
The kids are obviously super smart.
Super Smart and lucky both, assuming they were unhooked! There are many unhooked super smart kids but few get in to desired schools.
If you don’t mind- what race they are- Asians or whites/ European/ middle Eastern?

Kids are probably great and humble. You never saw how accomplished they were because they didn’t brag. And guessing their parents didn’t either.
Best guess.
Really? I "sensed" it because she SAID it!![]()
Here's her direct quote:
"I am both jealous and admiring at the same time. Ugh."
I think the tone is not the “I’m so jealous I want to go postal on them” more tongue in cheek. Lighten up

Does anyone think we are weird to talk this way?
