Not really. Charles and Diana were already divorced when she died. I actually think if she had lived people would have been much more sympathetic to Camilla because Diana would have been off dating other men too. Diana’s death adds a layer of tragedy and betrayal that wouldn’t be there if she was just a divorcée.

They just look old and boring.
Charles is a crusty old man, she’s the same. I mean they’re in their 70’s or 80’s? Nobody looks good at those ages. Most people are slowing down and retiring. It’s really lame that he’s still just waiting to start the only job he’s been trained for.

I think the royal family is a difficult place to exist, and it turns them all into fairly ugly people, eventually. I think Charles is a complex person who has a mean streak. I think they truly love each other and that she has gotten through an extremely public scrutiny of her lovelife with relative class and poise.
I dunno, I think they are people, products of their lives. I don't have much admiration for her or Charles, but I don't have loathing either.

Not sure about that. If Charles didn’t have options he may have been a bit more caring towards Diana. Maybe no divorce and maybe Diana would still be alive.

Diana was like 18 years old when Charles started courting her and 19 when they got engaged. I don't think she understood it as an arranged marriage. Charles was already in his 30s and a womanizer. Plus, the huge power imbalance.
I tend to cut teenagers a bit of slack when it comes to their naivety around relationships!

Like the others who have said neutral to mildly positive, my views have changed over the years. She absolutely contributed to the dissolution of a marriage, but had that marriage not involved The People’s Princess, it would have been just one more dysfunctional celebrity mess.

Umm really. It’s nice to fall in love but if YOU get married and the OTHER PERSON also gets married, a normal human being would step aside and focus on their own marriage. Love doesn’t mean just running after your feelings. Only someone incredibly self absorbed who thinks they are the center of the universe would do what they did.
