Minister here - Right wing “Christian” Evangelicals are not Christians. I know they truly believe they are. But, they are nothing like the Christ they claim to follow. And that’s the entire point of Christianity. To be Christ-like. There is no rebuttal to that. Christ would not even recognize these people.

I agree 100%. The problem is that mainstream Christians have held back on attacking Evangelicals and MAGA Catholics for being what they are - frauds. While the First Amendment protects (as it should ) their right to hold their religious views, it does not protect them from criticism, and, in fact, protects those who criticize them.

Those quotes seems to really screw up the free will notion that Christians say God gives us.

The free will that God offers is kind of a joke anyway given the number of people whose free will to live is ignored in the billions of adults, children and babies that God is shown to torture and murder in scriptures.

If the bible and Yahweh are to be believed, and as a non-believer, I, of course, cannot believe it, thanks to God, by God’s design and will against me, then why did God deny me belief or faith?

I have assumed that God’s work of creating both believers and non-believers is working. If that is so, and you believers must think it so, just as I as a non-believer cannot think it is working, --- and Jesus said that those with faith could do all he did and more, --- then there is not even one believer or person of faith that has ever existed.

Either the bible and Christianity is all a lie, or there must be some who can do what Jesus did.

IMO, God doesn't purposefully control some aspects of nature, like weather. I don't know that anyone knows for certain, but sometimes things happen in the womb that was not necessarily God's intent. It's like asking "why does God let bad things happen to babies"? I'm not equating being gay with "bad"; I'm just pointing out that God let's things happen in "nature". If you stub your toe, God didn't necessarily make that happen. If a child is born gay, God didn't necessarily make that happen.

IMO, there is some aspect of nature that causes people to be born gay.

Obviously. DNA damage.

DNA controls our chemistry and thus our5 thinking.

If God creates and sustains us, then he would be controlling every aspect of life, including nature.

I give that chore to nature as that way I have no problem of evil that Christians have to try to explain.

I'm a female heterosexual with visible external signs of hyperandrogenism since puberty and I am still having a hard time getting a diagnosis. Besides the few people who might 'experiment', homosexuality is largely genetic and something that they cannot 'fix' with religion.

Posters’ handle is “Gnostic” which leads me to believe they’re head to learn about religion or muck the pot, but who knows.

The truth is, no one should ask organized religion for its take on sexuality. It simply doesn’t matter. It’s like asking a doctor if bleeding by leaches is still an appropriate cure for plague.
