I think the answer is is quite important as it would show us the cause/source of homosexuality.
If God, as believers think, then why is God creating gays?

nature and God are the same thing, aren't they? What's the difference?
Gods are usually thought of as sentient. Nature is not.
As a naturalist and sentient, I have no problem associating/melding God and nature.
You and I are a part of nature, and in a sense, God.
Modern Gnostic Christians name our god "I am", and yes, we do mean ourselves.
You are your controller. I am mine. You represent and present whatever mind picture you have of your God or ideal human, and so do I.
The name "I Am" you might see as meaning something like, --- I think I have grown up thanks to having forced my apotheosis through Gnosis and meditation and “I am”, represents the best rules and laws that we have found to live by.
In Gnostic Christianity, we follow the Christian tradition that Christians have forgotten that they are to do. That is, become brethren to Jesus.
That is why some say that the only good Christian is a Gnostic Christian.
Here is the real way to salvation that Jesus taught.
Matthew 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Allan Watts explain those quotes in detail.
Alan Watts - On The Book of Eli - YouTube
Joseph Campbell shows the same esoteric ecumenist idea in this link.
On Becoming an Adult - YouTube
The bible just plainly says to put away the things of children. The supernatural and literal reading of myths.

Nice that you went to the left of the religious spectrum instead of the right wing of Christianity.
A small point as I am not against sex out of marriage for adults.
Is your minister married or having sex outside of marriage?
Do you frown on any adult, gay or straight having sex without marriage?

Minister here - Right wing “Christian” Evangelicals are not Christians. I know they truly believe they are. But, they are nothing like the Christ they claim to follow. And that’s the entire point of Christianity. To be Christ-like. There is no rebuttal to that. Christ would not even recognize these people.

Where else will the Catholic Church find clergy?
You are referring to their pedophile problem, which is not a really gay issue.

estimates are that up to 40% of clergy are gay.
No argument on this.
Lots of gay priests, I have no problem with.
Pedophiles, I do have a problem with.
You did not indicate that you knew the difference.

Anonymous wrote:Lordy. Stop making it more complicated than it is. People are gay because they are attracted to people of the same sex. It really is that simple. My youngest (DS20) is gay. There is nothing psychologically wrong with him. He is attracted to men. He has been in a committed relationship with his boyfriend for over a year. They are no different than any other couple.
Jesus does not care. He never mentioned it. God does not care. The verse so often (mis)interpreted references men lying with young boys. Not consenting adults. Y’all need to get your minds right.
/minister who is so sick of this shi7.

IMO, God doesn't purposefully control some aspects of nature, like weather. I don't know that anyone knows for certain, but sometimes things happen in the womb that was not necessarily God's intent. It's like asking "why does God let bad things happen to babies"? I'm not equating being gay with "bad"; I'm just pointing out that God let's things happen in "nature". If you stub your toe, God didn't necessarily make that happen. If a child is born gay, God didn't necessarily make that happen.
IMO, there is some aspect of nature that causes people to be born gay.

Obviously, your question would be more appropriately answered in the LGBT forum section. It seems you are just seeking validation on your personal ultra conservative views posting this question in the religion forum.
Disorders of sex development (DSD) is a real thing. Even if people may not show external visible symptoms at birth or puberty, you must keep in mind that many DSD people could be on the spectrum which is very hard to diagnose.

I'm a female heterosexual with visible external signs of hyperandrogenism since puberty and I am still having a hard time getting a diagnosis. Besides the few people who might 'experiment', homosexuality is largely genetic and something that they cannot 'fix' with religion.
