That’s their choice. Do you see how this works?

No, Youngkin says it's the parents' choice, regardless of what the individual school districts or schools say.

From his Executive Order:

The parents of any child enrolled in a elementary or secondary school or a school based
early childcare and educational program may elect for their children not to be subject
to any mask mandate in effect at the child’s school or educational program.

No parent electing that a mask mandate should not apply to his or her child shall be
required to provide a reason or make any certification concerning their child’s health
or education.

A child whose parent has elected that he or she is not subject to a mask mandate should
not be required to wear a mask under any policy implemented by a teacher, school,
school district, the Department of Education, or any other state authority.

+1. Governor Trump is trying to strip localities’ ability to make their own decisions on this based on local conditions, and instead put all control in Richmond’s hands. Classic Republican big government.

Don’t blame it on Richmond, please. We don’t want him.

I know you think this is somehow a big F-U to Youngkin, but guess what? It's not at all. He's simply letting local districts make their own rules. He himself has encouraged masks and vaccines.

Nope, he said it was a local decision on the campaign trail but has already pulled a bait-and-switch on day one. The EO explicitly states no school or jurisdiction may require masks. So much for local authority.

Kids won’t be allowed on the bus or in the school. Think Youngkin is going to send state troopers out to every elementary school on the first few weeks in his job?

It’s hard to imagine how Yohngkin could have been more divisive on his first day in office, short of burning a cross on the front lawn of the governors mansion.

If things get bad enough, we will move to Maryland. No need to stay in a shithole when they’re sanity just a few miles away.

Come join us in MoCo. It’s not perfect but we will never allow in a Trumpkin.

He had a Pillsbury doughboy face going on, which makes it hard to pull off a polished look.
