Ugh op I feel you - this has really sucked all around. I had my 3rd in February 2020. So I was stuck at home with a 4 week old, 3 year old and 5 year old. Nobody obviously vaccinated back then. It just all around sucked. Good luck - it’s going to be a long winter.

Yeah it’s rough but remember you need to be careful of RSV as well especially with the staffing issues at hospitals. Dig deep. It will pass. Both my babies were winter nicu babies and it was definitely a bit like the Shining there for awhile. Definitely get out and walk. Switch off with your husband if you can. I used to amuse myself by creating funny photo situations with my baby - kills a bit of time. Spring is really gonna feel amazing. You can do this. Remember - there are few things more miserable than a sick baby.

I have an 8 week old and 3yo. I’m generally fed up after being triple vaccinated and taking precautions for so long. That said, with two kids who can’t be vaccinated including a small infant, I wouldn’t throw all caution to the wind. We choose our risks carefully- my 3yo goes to school, as that is important for his development, and we see select family who are also being careful. As it is. My 3yo has already been quarantined for exposure after only 2 days of school. It’s stressful trying to isolate him from the baby. This is a stressful time OP that is particularly trying while caring for a newborn. Solidarity. Hang in there.

Who’s hurting a baby? They are telling OP to act like a responsible parent for a newborn - who cares if she was bored?

I'm sorry, OP, this sounds really tough.

I would not reccomend going out to public indoor places, but walks if it is warm. Consult with your doctor if you are struggling with PPA and PPD.

It is tough, but newborns are vulnerable, even in non-COVID times. I'm a little bit on the conservative side, and even worried slightly about bringing my < 1 year old in an airport after reading about how contagious (nearly eradicated) measles was. I still did take her on flights in the end, but omicron is everyonewhere right now.

Fed up or not, you cannot expose your newborn to covid especially with this omicron variant that is so contagious.

Try to bundle up baby and still get outside a bit if you can, is my best advice. Good luck!
I do know other people who are requiring guests to be vaccinated and take rapid tests before seeing the baby. Idk if anything like that is an option. They are seeing other people outdoors on warmer days. Good luck.
