I love Henry!

Use both names, one as the middle

Geoffrey,Martin, Gavin, Griffin - Anything much less popular with the last name Smith.

I love Holden too, and know one. It's a great name -- easy and enjoyable to say, familiar to most people as a name but still not particularly common. And it also hits this sweet spot that I think appeals to people who really like "classic" names, where it can suit a broad variety of personalities. The Holden I know is both shy and goofy, and it feels perfect for him (and he loves his name). But I could easily see it on a kind preppy, confident kid, or an artsy, studious kid. I think that's what people like about Ryan or Henry too -- it's versatile. But Holden is surprisingly versatile even though it's really not common.

I feel like the Ryan will be cool and good looking, Henry will be smart and not good looking.

The only two baby Ryan’s I know are girls. I think it’s definitely shifting to being a girl’s name.

Henry is super popular.

Seriously those are the only two names you like?

Ryan is sporty. Henry is smart. You choose.

Fwiw I have a one year old Henry and haven't met any others. And I have an older child too so it's not like I'm a FTM.

I love the name Henry but there are a looooot of Henrys out there right now. And Ryan is frequently used as a girl’s name these days, just something to keep in mind if that sort of thing bothers you.

Agree with others that with the last name Smith, you should go with something more distinctive or unusual.

What about Brian instead of Ryan?

I’m sorry but Ryan and Henry are not awesome names. Henry is cute but it is so unbelievably overdone right now.
