UM, this thread is about a weather related closure. You may be in the wrong place.

No need to exaggerate. Many kids stay home all day including my teenagers. Too much computer and phone time but not socializing in person

we work but both do shift work hours thankfully. The longest we need childcare is 3 hours and it’s not every day. DD is 9 now so we can leave her alone, although prefer not to. Sometimes she goes to a friends, sometimes a Grandpa helps out, Grandpa is purely back up though. We did have to scramble more when she was younger, but it’s gotten better. I do feel like if you have kids you always need to have a plan B and C for school closures.Anonymous wrote:Curious….What do working parents do when school is closed all week? This was inevitable once OPM closed. They have never opened when the feds were closed. Nobody wants to stick their neck out and I probably wouldn’t either in that position.
My high school kid is walking to the bus stop before 7. I thought they decided at 5am most of the time (we are new to MCPS).

Usually KAH! KAH is fantastic.
This time, MCPS even made KAH close. Screwing parents even more.
