If you knew anything about the vetting and interview process, even for a tourist visa -- let alone a work/student/exchange visa -- you would know that no one here on a valid visa would be using fraudulent documents. Tons of actually legitimate people get rejected if a consular officer even remotely believes there could possibly be fraud involved.

Some rich people "problems" really make me want to vomit.

She’s probably not using fake documents. If anything, she’s probably using a younger sister’s or cousin’s birth certificate/passport.

There is no way you can tell a 30 year old from 22 just by looking. Especially when they are from another country. So most likely you are simply wrong. You should get to know her. Have her talk about her background and I bet that will lead you to an answer. I also wanted to say 22 year-olds are not nearly as good at taking care of kids as older people. The perfect nanny is a 50 year-old woman who has grown children. 22 year-olds still want to go out with their friends every night and find a boyfriend. All they want is some cash and a life experience. They don’t want to take care of your kids.

Birth certificate fraud happens in many countries, including South America. Passport office fraud less so, but birth certificate fraud complicates their work.

OP you need to ask yourself what difference it would make to you and your family if your au pair were older than the agency said she was.
