Nearly all Chinese restaurants taste the same to me. Same dishes and everything. Like Mexican restaurants.

Unless you are either getting from food cart, some high end fusion type, or in a specialty area that caters to that specific food.

Anju is Korean, not Chinese. It is excellent though.

We've gone that route. The fancy places do not bring in their "A" Crew on Christmas day.

Sorry. I missed the part in your post about reviews. Anyway, how about trying a different restaurant?

There are so many amazing Chinese restaurants out there. Only some serve "greasy" food. A fancy restaurant with food that is more similar to home-cooked dishes will provide you with a far different experience.

How about trying a Chinese restaurant with more positive reviews next time?

I remember when I too had disordered eating and assigned virtue to how infrequently I ate certain foods and made myself earn them and then tried to convince myself I didn’t even like them so I wouldn’t indulge too much. Free yourself. Just enjoy the food. Don’t run for it. You’re not going to gain a bunch of weight and be disgusting. It’s just food. Life is so much better when you realize that and stop letting food have power over you.

My experience too. But I can’t be sure if it is my preferences have changed since i haven’t had Chinese food in years, the Christmas cooking assembly line chaos, or the place we picked.

But the food was so so greasy, very salty, and every sauce tasted like it had it ton of sugar added to it too (nothing sweet/sour was ordered). I didn’t care for at all. Even my soup had so much corn starch in it I felt like I was eating a bowl of gravy.
