Not ideal for you it sounds, but doable? Yes, of course. I did all of my transfers and shots by myself during my husband’s deployment. I was also caring for a small child solo at the time. Honestly, it stinks, and you can be upset, but after a day, you need to take a deep breath and focus on moving ahead towards your goal. You can totally do it on your own, and maybe you could ask a family member or friend to stop by while he is gone to talk or help with your child?

I do 100% believe that there is nothing you can do after the embryo is transferred to better your chances. Taking care of your child by yourself for a few days won’t make the transfer fail, know what I mean? I’m sure there will be times in your future where you will be taken care of two small children by yourself while your husband is away for work, and I guarantee that will be much harder and more stressful than this upcoming business trip will be. Let’s hope that’s a stress you’ll be able to realize with the arrival of a healthy child! Wishing you lots of luck.

My mistake. I thought she was saying that OP was an incompetent mother for questioning how she would manage (the “how will you handle caring for two kids”) before saying she was competent (“you can do it.”). I know I was nervous about caring for two kids while pregnant with my second (both were IVF) and comments like “how will you handle two if you’re stressed about A/B/C” seemed designed to undermine my confidence.
