Post 12/21/2021 08:21     Subject: Why do some folks send Xmas cards so late?

Last year we received cards postmarked a month + before they actually arrived at our house and I know something similar happened to some of the cards we sent.

I was late this year though sent them yesterday because I just am overwhelmed with every from the last two years and it was not at the top of my priority list. Especially since I’m now scrambling to figure out what to do with my children for the “bonus” days DCPS is closing when I am completely out leave after draining it for Covid related closures.

Tell them their late card annoys you and they will probably be glad to take you off their list.

IMO they are holiday cards. As long as they are there by early Jan fine with me; new year cards are good. Not everyone celebrates Christmas.

+1

Agree with OP. How hard is it to send them on time?

Other people may actually have busy, fulfilling lives.

It was so low on my priority list and I never liked doing them. We stopped sending them out completely a few years back. Is that better, OP? No card rather than one the week before Christmas.

You can take anybody off your card list at any time. What a bizarre thing to act like you have no control over.

I may get flamed for mentioning this, but w/all honesty I always feel like a second thought if I receive a Christmas 🎄 card after Christmas.

I enjoy getting cards after the holiday, makes the season feel longer. Then again, I must not be an overall angry person as you are OP.
