The schools I'm aware of (2 ES, 1 middle school) send emails to all parents when there has been a case and notes which grade. They don't specify the classroom, just the grade. You can deduce a decent amount of spread based on how close in time the emails come out for each grade. There is spread, just not enough for it to require schools to shut down which tells me the mitigation measure work, so keep them up and vax your kids!

Why aren't you vaccinating your kid? Healthy kids can be vaccinated. There are no quarantines for vaccinated close contacts. If you choose not to vaccinate, you're going to have to live with the consequences.

These are political decisions the CDC has made to drive up vaccination rates for kids, considering the extremely low risk of COVID to kids. The CDC chose kids missing school.

Are they showing symptoms? I'm wondering if people are catching asymptomatic b/c of travel or if they are testing b/c of symptoms (says the person who has congestion on and off half the year).

It’s everywhere. I feel like if you’re negative you’re in the minority.

The big super spreader events were the three W-L/Yorktown basketball games played last Thursday. Kids from all the high schools attended and now many more than a handful have tested positive.

An entire basketball team tested positive at WL recently.

We know 3 teens at WL on our street that tested positive over the last 3 days (not of same friend group). We also know a few at YHS.

It's rampant in the HS now...so I assume middle school too--though we have only heard a couple 'reported' cases via kids that opted in for testing.
