Ah. My sense of humor is practically desiccated, and I thought it was hilarious. So do some people on this thread, and other people I know.

I guess it's just like most things, and it will appeal to some but not others. Strange how the world works.

I had no idea it was meant to be a parody, and I didn’t notice any clues in the first episode. Then I saw this thread and was in on the joke as I watched the next two episodes which did have a handful of jokes.

Here’s the thing: the score/music coupled with the acting just don’t go with the parody approach.

I mean, go watch the Naked Gun to see how talented actors with proper direction and background music make a silly comedy despite a serious plot. It can be done.

Still watching.

I too noticed the headstone change but that's because I read this before watching that. I think it's not acted right. Like the detective talking to her at the station. No emotion? No emphasis on ATE?

To the E1 watcher...i would not have continued except I was too lazy last night to make it stop. Got through E4 and enjoyed it but didn't really LOL like I had hoped.

I thought it would REALLY be a parody and was looking forward to some laughs. Not so much.



+2. I didn’t like it or hate it and I have quite a dry sense of humor. It didn’t feel like a true/complete parody to me. Kristen Bell is gorgeous.

Ok, I can't get through Episode 1. It had some funny moments (the enormous wine glass), but not enough to really keep me hooked. Does it get better? It seems kind of... sad. The storyline about her daughter, etc.

Side note - I am loving her house!! Gorgeous.

Yes! Just binged the whole thing tonight with DD. I told her that, but she hadn’t noticed. Good parade of all those books/movies, especially The Woman in the Window.
