I think PJ pants are great. In fact, I'm not sure who it was that decided that elastic waist flannel pants are necessarily PJ pants. Flannel is a great fabric -- warm, comfortable, wears well. And elastic waist is great, especially for teens who might have weird body sizes as they grow. I was NOT a fan of "eggings as pants" and often told me daughter to go up and put on pants (and also won't let my son wear the very revealing jog pants to school). And the low rise with the butt crack showing was even worse. I am TeamPJPant all the way. (Are we still doing that thread where we pick DCUM teams? I am TeamLeggingsAren'tPants but TeamFlannelPJsArePants.

My kid sleeps in a light nightshirt, and saves the PJ Pants for school or hanging out with friends. It's also a really cute look with doc martens and a denim jacket or cardigan.

I’m such a mean mom I made me kids get out of their PJ pants during Zoom school last year. No way I’d let them go to school like that. I work on a college campus and it really grosses me out to see people walking around in PJ pants and slippers. It’s just sloppy.

Easier to roll down.

Nope. We don't leave the house in PJs or come downstairs to breakfast in PJs. This goes for the adults as well. Also we never let our kids leave the house in non matching, ill fitting, or dirty clothing. Now as teens they don't do this either. Parents have made fun of me for years because I was so rigid about the appropriate clothing but now as teens they know how to dress appropriately for an event without being told. Oh and yes, they picked out their own clothing since they were young but we didn't hesitate to ask them to change before leaving the house. We also insisted the proper shoes were worn as well

I graduated from HS in '94, and this was a thing then. Pj pants with Timberlands.

Well, I'm gonna say it, "I'm glad my child is in a uniform."
pajama pants? I guess it's fine to wear them out as long as they are clean? I grew up in the 90s and would have wanted to do this, but my parents told me to get dressed so I didn't. lol.

This was a thing in the 90s and it's a thing again now. Unless she seems depressed, it's nothing to worry about.

At our HS and MS, a LOT of kids wear pajama bottoms. And it’s not just the girls - boys wear them, too.

I disagree with you. These girls do not actually wear these pajama pants to sleep in at night. Just think of them as colorful/patterned sweatpants. It really is the same thing.

I don't think it's unusual, but I would keep an eye on her if she is wearing them everyday. Mine usually wear leggings, but mix in jeans and sweats On a cold morning like today, it was all sweats at drop off.
