Katz is OK (the only actual businessperson on the Council) but doesnt' seem to stand up for the people much. Albornoz is a ladder-climber but also a yes-man.

Friedson does stuff like question why the county needs to pass toothless resolutions on international affairs for example. (Leave that for Congress please).

I will say that, IME, Hucker is typically very responsive to constituent concerns (I’m in his district). I may not agree with him in everything but I feel like he does listen to people. He’s not eligible for another term though, right?

He is, but he's running for County Executive.

LOL. Guess someone doesn’t feel very confident that he can win in a district without TP votes and probably also knows better than anyone how weak Riemer is.

Imagine shilling for Hucker. Watch a council hearing, if there is one guy that cannot be even bothered to pretend his gives a flying f*ck it’s Hucker.

Hucker, jawando, Hans-- All these bozos need to be voted out!!

Thankfully both Riemer and Hucker are term limited out and Riemer has zero chance if being elected CE.

As for Jawando, at the rate he’s going I suspect he’ll be resigning at some point in his council career as result of a scandal. Hopefully it happens sooner rather than later.

I was hoping he'd just quit since he got his book deal.

Yes definitely vote out slimy Hans! Hopefully someone good will run against him.

It's not possible to vote him out, because he's term-limited. Please pay more attention to local issues!

Actually, obnoxious person, he is running for County Executive so you can “vote him out” by not allowing him to continue his reign of error, incompetence and destruction in this county.

You can vote Elrich out of office (or try to), because the office he currently holds is county executive, and he's running for re-election. If somebody else gets more votes, then he won't have a second term holding office as county executive.. But you can't vote Riemer out of office, no matter how hard you try, because the office he currently holds is county councilmember, and he can't run for re-election for that office.

“Slimy Hans” is a good monicker for him. Thankfully he’s term limited and will need to find a career in the private sector. Should be interesting considering he lacks any tangible skills.

He's one of the only councilmembers I actively dislike, after our entire neighborhood was polled, a majority opposed the nonsensical dog park smack in the middle of Norwood Park, & he rammed it through. Very open to any contender!

That's a GREAT reason to vote for him! I plan to use that park a lot!!! I have always thought Norwood Park should have a dog park. So much of the land there goes unused most of the time. The only issue is the parking.

I was interested in Brooks but I've come to realize she's a developer shill. The woman on the planning board, hard pass.

A lot of these candidates actively concern me. Brooks would be disastrous. Fani-Gonzalez is this absurd combination of stupid and corrupt. Mink is just wow.

Very few of these people are serious and when serious people do run, like Bill Conway, they cannot get any votes.

Honestly, this county is doomed. We’re going to need to hit some bottom before we can find a way back.

Roll your eyes all you want; they ignored code & sited it (too) close to a tot lot; it's right smack in the middle of a multi use area, and, most importantly, a majority of the people affected voiced opposition. Not a terribly democratic process.

This is true for basically any proposal for change. Also, this is how the democratic process works: the voters elect representatives (for example, county council members) who make decisions. And this is NOT how the democratic process works: decisions are made by the people who choose to testify at public hearings.

The decisions are already made well before public hearings and testimony. It is a dog and pony show.

Watch the virtual public hearings the council has, they have the public hearing minutes before they vote and are not swayed by the testimony.
