I'm not there yet with my DC so I'm not clear on all the differences, just ran across the pages last night.

From the site "In the boys' program, CSA enters a National Academy team and a National team in each age group. The National Academy program, which replaced the US Soccer Development Academy, is a 10-month program for age groups U13-U19. National Academy players are not permitted to participate in high school soccer programs. The National teams for boys and girls play a 6-month season permitting participation in high school soccer programs."

If your kid has high grades and is a starter on their ECNL team, then they have a good chance of playing in college (at whatever D level college is interested). Any kid that wants to play pro and is in ECNL will probably want to get on an MLSNext team soon seeing as MLS is creating a path to the pro-level with their new MLSNext Pro League.

If your kid wants to play in college you should be getting him on those schools radar contacting the coach about interest as well as attending any of their summer camps. Of course your kid has to be pretty good as well.

For males, it is. 98% across ECNL teams will not be getting any kind of scholarship.

Females--it is drastically different.

We were talking about playing in college. We all know there is very little money for boys in soccer. People love coming on these forums and waving this around like its new or something.
