You sound like you have an anger problem. Why accuse a random stranger of not being cautious with zero evidence? Really, you think it’s absurd to wish your kids could have normal social lives? If you think simply being allowed to go to school (masked and strictly distanced) is enough, you are the one with the problem. I hope you get some help to make yourself feel better.

My kid was hospitalized with RSV as a toddler, which is a risk we all somehow learned to accept. The risk of COVID to young kids is still incredibly low (there’s no reason to think this new variant is any more deadly). You take risks like driving in a car with your children every day, but presumably the upsides are worth the small risk. Anyone not letting their kids have a normal childhood at this point is doing it themselves. We had a giant get together with cousins yesterday and it was so fun seeing them all play.
We don't do them because of peel like you. You are doing multiple get togethers with multiple groups which puts us all at risk but OP is sending her kids to school and doing everything else so her kids are having a normal childhood and she's just being dramatic.
Covid in kids is increasing. Thanks you for your help with that!
You’re welcome. My kid just got back home from an all day play date a few minutes ago. Happy to help.
Yes, we know. You’re a selfish jackals. Message received.

Sure. You are fine once your kids are vaccinated, but this new variant may evade vaccines to the point exposure to it is as if you ARE unvaccinated. So basically if you didn’t socialize when your kids are unvaxed, this variant resets everything back to an unvaxed state for all of us.

Anonymous wrote:Just do indoor play dates with masks. Honestly, I spent a good part of the pandemic terrified of my kids getting covid, and really did not allow them to do anything indoors beyond school. Then, they got covid from a vaccinated family member anyway. It was so incredibly mild in all my kids. In fact, two of them had no symptoms. I regret being so strict with them even after all adults in their life were vaccinated.

But our kids are back to normal. School is normal. Sports are normal. Playdates are normal. It's all normal.
Tell me more. I’m actually looking into moving purely for normalcy. Masks in school? Play dates without hesitation?
Where do you live (I’m guessing MoCo)? I’m in McLean and have 3 kids. Completely back to normal for months with all friends in terms of sleepovers and play dates indoors with no masks. All parents and kids have gotten vaccinated as soon as they could.
Just don't post about how SHOCKED you are that you all got covid and don't know how it happened.

Yes, escaping MoCo is key. I got out to five years ago. It’d be awful to be stuck there now.
We are very glad you left.
