You’re not supposed to rinse raw meat.

Last year we ordered the Blue Apron turkey meal. How about just doing that? It's got everything you'll need food wise in one big box.

Don't forget the olive oil!

I'm also thinking now about pantry basics that I'm used to having, like flour for gravy and lots of butter.

I wouldn't count on any pantry basics. Even if they are there, do you want to mess with potentially 2 year old olive oil in your Thanksgiving roasted carrots. So, big thing of olive oil, butter, salt, and sugar.

Oh yeah, I totally would have forgotten sugar because other people are bringing dessert and we drink our coffee black. Things like that we always have at home, so I don't even think about it. Coffee and filters, thanks for the reminder above on those, too. the car will be so full!

Thanks DCUM, this is all a huge help!

Coffee - it helps to know what they have for a coffee maker, so you know what kind of filters to bring. Often there is a huge stash of filters because EVERY renter buys a whole pack, uses 3, and leaves the rest ... But sometimes not.

Basic spices/seasonings. We stayed in one this summer that had 4 salt containers, two things of powdered garlic, one jar of chili powder, one jar of rosemary from 2015, and one jar of some random spice mix. No black pepper. It's easier to bring what you need from home, because who wants to buy an entire jar of pepper on site for one meal??

Good points!
